Cassava is a major tuber crop, cultivated and used specially in developing countries, which presents a good yield even in poor soils, an important drought tolerance and relevant industrial and nutritious applications. However, cassava has been scientifically relatively under-explored and under-investigated.
This study case has integrated multi-omics data from cassava using the GLOMICAVE platform with the aim to identify biomarkers for yield and, beyond that, potentially determine new mechanistic insights into storage root formation, both of which could improve yield and generate designer plants.
