KU Leuven, founded in 1425, is a multidisciplinary and research-driven univeristy which is dedicated to education and research in a huge diversity of fields. Nowadays, it is the Belgium’s highest-ranked university and one of the oldest universities in Europe.
The university has a clear vision focused on research, education, quality and diversity. These faculties and departments, in turn, are clustered into three groups: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), and Biomedical Sciences. Each of these groups has a doctoral school for its doctoral training programmes.
