GLOMICAVE partners from the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), and the University of Bordeaux (UBx), attended an academic exchange session celebrated within the Carlos Chagas Filho Foundation for Research Support (FAPERJ) last 5th of December in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Dr Pierre Pétriacq, project partner from INRAE and Associate Professor at UBx, organised q seminar with the objective to describe how dramatic increase in high-throughput “omics” data acquisition has necessitated the application of AI-based analysis in life sciences, with a particular focus on plant sciences, animal sciences and microbiology.
During his presentation, entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Life Sciences: the omics revolution”, he introduced GLOMICAVE as a key European project developing an innovative digital platform, relying on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics and using large-scale publicly available omic datasets, to enhance the understanding of biological systems as a whole.
