GLOMICAVE aims to exploit the information hidden in the existing scientific literature and large-scale -omics dataset for a better understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships. This task uses GLOMICAVE platform to find biomarkers of fruit quality and fruit development. Quantitative multi-omics datasets (allowing cross-species comparison) and qualitative phenotypic traits of ten fruit species at ten stages of fruit development are integrated. Variables, i.e. a set of genes, proteins and metabolites, are found to show good relationships between genotypes and fruit phenotypes. Notably, selected omics variables can predict quantitative fruit growth traits such as relative growth rate. These variables could then be used as targets to improve genomic selection and/or agricultural practices.
