The GLOMICAVE project was presented during the session “Making it happen: solutions, regulations and licenses to operate biobanks” celebrated within the Europe Biobank Week, which took place as a virtual format from 8th – 10th of November 2021.
Janos Meszaros, Teodora Lalova and Isabelle Huys, project’s partners from KU Leuven, participated in the session “Ethics of Artificial Intelligence”, delivering the presentation “AI in biobanking: from science fiction to future trends”.
The work presented the opportunities and challenges of the application of Artificial Intelligence from the biobanks’ perspective. The presentation also includes information to elucidate these issues from a practical point of view through the regulation and operation of biobanks in Belgium, focusing on the trustworthy and human-centric application of AI.
The Europe Biobank Week, organised by BBMRI-ERIC, had the objective to highlight the state-of-the-art biobanking innovations and research and brought together industry representatives and experts from academia sector.
